Everyone always ask us for tips on installing your own pole at home so... here we go! Ladies, you can do this all by yourself, but there are risk involved- so don't be ashamed to call up some hot guy for help or your BFF! We use Xpoles for home installation to order one at www.verticaljoes.com

Grab a friend and lets get it!

* First, be sure you have a ladder and stud finder- without the stud finder you will punch a hole in your ceiling.

** Second, be sure you have a measuring tape to measure that your ceiling height matches your assembled pole height.

***Third, be sure you have a pencil for placement and a leveler to assure the pole is straight.

**** Last, be sure you have at least 5 ft of space surrounding your pole area so that you don't destroy your home in the name of pole dance.

Now.. let's get to it!

1- Whip out that measuring tape and measure your place from floor to ceiling! Get your bestie to hold one end and you knock down the other! Write it down- your memory not that good lol

2- Unpack your pole and be sure you read all the directions before attempting assembly. Be sure that you assemble to the appropriate ceiling height. We also suggest cleaning the pole with a degreaser as the pole packaging may be polished and slippery.

3- Stud finder time! Very important.. If you don't understand what a 'stud/beam' is, it's basically a foundation beam in your ceiling that supports your ceiling. You can find them in your walls as well. Look around, your chandelier, TV, ceiling fans are all mounted on stud/beams. Read the details on your stud finder and practice finding one on the wall before trying to on the ceiling. Now, you will need a ladder to reach the ceiling -have your friend support the base. Note: If you have popcorn ceilings use something soft to 'shave the area' to reduce error. Also, put on goggles to protect your eyes as popcorn ceilings drop in ya damn eyes! Pick a stable ceiling area- no tray ceilings etc. Now go for it, find your stud, double check it, triple check it and mark the spot with a pencil.

4- This is a personal favorite optional tip If your pole has a removable ceiling flange, remove the ceiling flange only. Place it to the ceiling and center it based on your stud. Use your pencil to trace a circle around the ceiling plate to assure you are centered. Then place the ceiling flange back on to the pole.

5- With the help of your bud! Raise your pole and install based on your instructions. Then level it to make sure it is stable in straight.

6- Test that baby out!! Go ahead and give it a few spins, especially if you have carpet. Sometimes, after a few spins the pole can be retightened as it sinks into the plush carpet and settles in.

7- Pole til you drop!
